art gallery FEATURING local artists

Following our recent offer to display works by local artists, we are pleased to advise that throughout the dining areas and in our new bar lounge we are featuring works from members of the Faringdon Art Society.

Founded in 1964, for all those interested in art in Faringdon and the Vale of the White Horse, the society is run on a 'not-for-profit' basis and has over 100 members.

Many of their works are for sale and any commissions earned will be donated by The Hare Restaurant to the Mary Hare Foundation.

Mary Hare Primary is a non-maintained special school which caters for primary aged children (4-11) with a severe or profound hearing loss. Mary Hare educates children from all over the UK of both sexes and for all but a few who live close enough to go home each day, pupils are obliged to board. Spoken language aquisition is something that Mary Hare Primary 'pride' themselves in. They believe that the first few educational years in any child's education whether hearing impaired or not are the most important and influential years in their lives and 'paves the way' for their future. At the end of a child's education at Mary Hare the aim is to have developed their oral skills to enable them to live successfully in both deaf and hearing worlds.

All works displayed are at the discretion of management.
