Welcome
The Hare Restaurant in Lambourn Woodlands, formerly a traditional Grade II listed village inn, has just re-opened after a major refurbishment programme. We now feature a larger restaurant, increased by a third in size, and a new lounge/bar serving light snacks during the day. Behind the scenes, the newly re-fitted kitchen has been doubled in size. Our stylish restaurant is set in an area of outstanding natural beauty above the valley of the racehorse.
The restaurant upholds its high reputation for fine dining, serving a tempting choice of traditional and contemporary cuisine. A relaxed and pleasant ambience pervades the four pleasant, comfortable dining areas, each with their own distinctive appeal. We have been careful to ensure that the original three have retained their individual characters while adding the new fourth area. The Garden Room is now available for private parties and can be closed off from the other areas.
Our talented head chef, Paul Reed, has worked for many prestigious establishments under some of the country’s most outstanding chefs. He carefully selects his quality ingredients to create stunning value dishes. His varied lunchtime menu changes weekly while his evening menu evolves with the seasons.
And customers can now relax in the new bar and lounge, open from 11.00am to 11.00pm, where a selection of mouth-watering up-market snacks are also served up to 6.00pm to cater for customers, short on time, but still looking for quality food.
The new kitchen, part of the extensive refurbishments, has been re-fitted with brand new equipment and is twice the size of the original one.
In the summer months, we also offer al fresco dining on our south facing terrace.
Lunchtime or evening, Front of House Manager, Bruno Gautier, and his expert team look forward to welcoming you for a relaxed dining experience.
The Hare Restaurant is situated mid-way between Newbury and Swindon, three miles along Ermin Street from Junction 14 of the M4. It is the ideal venue to unwind and enjoy a quiet drink or fine dining in convivial surroundings.
